My Two Swirls' Worth
Hi, everyone.
I’ve been away but wanted to touch base. I plan to have a live chat on election night and I hope you will all join me. I’ll send you the info closer to Election Night.
Just some rambling thoughts.
I thought the MSG event was, well, huge. Trump’s rallies are more mini-convention than rally with the big difference being anyone can attend a Trump rally - not so with a convention. T rallies are focused on the audience and guest speakers; not the party elite and getting the party to unify around and nominate a candidate.
To attend a convention you either have to be someone special, someone with deep pockets, a delegate, part of the campaign, or you have to pay beaucoup bucks to attend. Not so with a Trump rally — it’s free, last I checked, but you do have to register and stand on line with no guarantee you’ll get in.
The reason I say Trump’s rallies, in particular the one at MSG, remind me of a convention comes down to the fact that the atmosphere at both events is the same: Jubilant. Fun. Energizing. Optimistic. Lots of hats, signs, cheers, and jeers. Tens of thousands of attendees. Guest speakers.
A grand old time for the grand old party.
Can’t deny that, at a minimum, that sure feels good.
But the reason people are going nuts for Trump is because he is focused on the country and the Forgotten Ones, in stark contrast to campaigns past. I tried to get the Romney campaign to do a tiered event in California when he would come to the nation’s ATM to raise money. I guaranteed them a minimum of 1000 attendees at $100 or less a ticket. Obama used to do these low-priced high volume events in California, then zip off to a higher-priced larger event with entertainment later in the afternoon, followed by a small, super high-priced event at someone’s home in Silicon Valley with few attendees, by comparison. Romney couldn’t be bothered. I explained how much it would mean to the Republicans supporting him and how it would energize people to help get out the vote for other candidates and in other states. Couldn’t care less about the folks in the field and on the ground.
That has been the entire focus of all three of Trump’s campaigns and I don’t think it’s about optics. I really believe it is sincere on his part—probably the most sincere he has ever been in his time in the public limelight.
Predictions aren’t my forte so I will not be so bold as to predict the outcome of this election. But I wonder if the Dems are up to their usual tricks? They’ve been very quiet except for the actual campaigning of Harris-Walz and that always makes me nervous because that usually means while they are neglecting grand efforts on national TV with the candidates, they are working incredibly hard behind the scenes getting out the vote and implementing their election shenanigans.
They certainly are well funded. They have millions to blow that the Trump campaign doesn’t have and cannot accumulate in the next week.
Kamala’s weaknesses and hypocrisies have been completely exposed; even Dems cringe at her consistently poor performance.
That doesn’t translate into Dems switching their votes. No, votes on both sides are baked in. Again, this comes down to turnout and indie/undecided voters.
If the Dems are, as usual, hard at work behind the scenes bringing people to the polls and orchestrating all manner of election havoc, heaven help us.
If not, are they just on cruise control putting into action election tactics that worked in the last election, expecting the same miraculous win? Or, are they trying out something new that we cannot anticipate?
Or, have the Dems in charge essentially given up? I mean, they’ll go through the motions, spend money on ads/lies, keep the GOTV machine moving, and continue to have surrogates and the Democrat-Media Complex bolster their candidate. But the fact that they rolled out D-royalty at the last minute, kind of says: You weren’t worth our time or worth disrupting summers at the Vineyard until we were peering over the cliff to potential doom. Then we realized we better make a good showing to cover our hind quarters, so we dusted off our political boxing gloves in the throes of the campaign so we could say we at least tried. But we’ve known since selecting KH and certainly once the convention was finished, that the proverbial writing was on the wall and we decided not to spend ourselves into oblivion trying to win a lost race but to focus, instead, on the mid-terms and 2028. But, we didn’t want to advertise that, discourage turnout, and hand the Rs a landslide, so we had to step in at the last minute and look like we cared.
My gut tells me this isn’t that far-fetched.
Also, the Democrat-Media Complex isn’t really that enthused. Their reporting is essentially that it’s neck-and-neck, anyone’s win, too close to call. Normally, they hyper-inflate their reporting. If “it’s a dead heat” is the best they can do, if I’m a betting gal, I’m putting all my money on Trump.
When was the last time a week before a presidential election that the DMC wasn’t pushing the narrative that it was certain defeat for the Rs and a sure victory for the Ds?
And let’s not forget about the betting markets which are surging for DJT.
Or, are the Dems simply on cruise control, employing what worked in the past but not up to any newfangled antics? If that’s the case, dare I say the wind is at our sails? Dare I say Trump just might win? Dare I suggest he might even win the popular as well as the electoral vote?
We don’t want to be misled by info circulating around our bubbles, either.
That said, early voting is looking good for us. Still, it ain’t over ‘til the fat lady sings.
Let’s all watch the polls come in on November 5th and see where it takes us.
If you are out there getting out the vote, thank you!
See you on Election Night!
Sally

Good commentary. I believe Donald Trump will win (including all seven swing states) and the election will be called on the evening of November 5.
Democrats wanted to oust Joe Biden and hold a mini-primary at their convention to nominate a candidate who had NO direct connection to the Biden-Harris failures. That didn't happen when Joe and Jill backstabbed the Democrat Party by immediately endorsing Kamala "Word Salad" Harris.
Behind closed doors the Bidens will be thrilled for Harris to lose. Biden will go around saying, "I was the only one who beat Donald Trump, and I could have beat him again." Not true, but it will make Joey feel good saying it.
Sally is so right that Donald Trump CARES about America's "forgotten men and women" and that is why we care so much about Donald Trump. Officially, it might still be called the Republican Party, but it is the MAGA Party.
Good thoughts, Sally. Dems seem desperate. The momentum has swung our way, I think. See you all on chat on Nov-5! Get the vote out and, support the Swirl!
